Lil Jon’s Son DJ Young Slade Dead at 27 — Father Breaks Silence in Heartbreaking Statement

DJ Young Slade, the son of hip-hop icon Lil Jon, has tragically passed away at the age of 27, his father confirmed in an emotional statement released Thursday.

The music world was left in shock after Lil Jon revealed the devastating loss of his son, whose real name was Nathan Smith. The rapper expressed deep heartbreak over the tragedy:

 “I am extremely heartbroken for the tragic loss of our son, Nathan Smith,” Lil Jon said. “His mother, Nicole Smith, and I are devastated.”

Lil Jon described Nathan as an exceptionally kind and loving person, remembered for his warmth, passion, and deep care for others.

“Nathan was the kindest human being you would ever meet. He was immensely caring, thoughtful, polite, passionate, and warmhearted. He loved his family and the friends in his life to the fullest,” he shared.

Beyond his character, DJ Young Slade was also a highly talented creative force. He was a music producer, artist, and engineer, and a proud graduate of New York University (NYU).

The grieving father added that the family takes comfort in knowing they expressed their love to Nathan during their final moments together.

Lil Jon also thanked the Milton Police Department for their assistance during the search for his son, acknowledging their efforts during an incredibly difficult time.

Nathan Smith, known professionally as DJ Young Slade, was 27 years old.
