Laura is angry with Massimo, why do you call me when you don’t love me?

Scene: A small, dimly lit apartment in the city. It’s late evening. Rain patters softly against the window. Laura is sitting on the couch, phone in hand, eyes red. The door buzzes, and she hesitates before opening it. Massimo stands there, soaked from the rain.
INT. LAURA’S APARTMENT – NIGHT
LAURA
(quietly, but with sharp emotion)
Why do you call me when you don’t love me?
MASSIMO
(takes a step inside, hesitant)
Laura, it’s not that simple.
LAURA
It is that simple. You call me. You say things that keep me hoping. But when I look in your eyes, it’s like I’m a ghost.
MASSIMO
I don’t want to lose you.
LAURA
You already have. You just don’t want to be alone.
(Beat. Silence between them. Rain outside grows heavier.)
MASSIMO
I miss you. I miss… the way we were.
LAURA
We don’t exist anymore. And if you can’t love me now, when it matters, then don’t call. Don’t drag me back into your silence.
(She turns away. He looks at her, struggling to say something, but instead takes a step back.)
MASSIMO
(softly)
Goodbye, Laura.
LAURA
(whispers, without turning around)
Finally.
(Door closes slowly. Camera lingers on her face, a single tear rolling down as she exhales, both in pain and relief.)
